Bu Dai is formerly known as Bu Dai Zui, and aptly called because its terrain is similar to sack cloth.
Bu Dai is an unsophisticated small fishing port.
Most of its inhabitants are fishermen and fish breeders by profession.
Saltpan stretches to the horizon, and was once reputed to be the most flourishing salt industry. |
However, as a result of the downgrading of salt industry, the sight of what was once a spectacular view of snowywhite salt is now gone. Nowadays, what was left of it were plots of dry up salt pan, and flocks of hunting egret, which present a different leisurely view. Oyster cultivation is also another main attraction. Clamshells were weaved together to form a net. Bamboo were used to stabilize them in the shallow sea until such time that their seedlings would grow to ultimate oyster. |
