Geographically, the Tropic of Cancer divides Taiwan, as evident by its dual climate of torrid and subtropics. Shui Shang Village of Chiayi is situated in this Tropic. This monument was built on the 34th year during the reign of Guang Xu, Ching Dynasty. A series of repairs lead to its present look. As it is adjacent to the county road, the monument becomes a favorite spot for visitors to have their pictures taken.
