To create an opportunity to develop Chiayi County, magistrate Ming-wen Chen visited AU Optronics Corp to invite the setup of factory in Chiayi Industrial Park (Macho industry district). After the briefings, chairman of AUO, Kun-yao Li expressed that he has good impressions with Chiayi County¡¦s industrial environment. Accompanied with county government¡¦s positive attitude, the company will continue to evaluate this proposal.
To help economic lagging regions, magistrate Ming-wen Chen strives hard for every possible chance to develop. After the completion of the tourism development, the current stage is the introduction to the manufacturers to increase career opportunities.
In addition to the set up of the Dapu Vanilla biotech and the Precision Machinery Park, Chiayi Industrial Park has received supports from the Council for Economic Planning and Development. At the mean time, AUO is planning to expand its 10th generation factory, Ming-wen Chen accompanied by the Deputy-magistrate Kuei-nan Huang, mayor of Puzih city Li-zhen Huang, mayor of Lucao township Mu-Huei Lin, legislator Hua-guan Zhang and county assemblywoman Xiu-yu Yang to visit AUO¡¦s chairman Kun-yao Li.
After the operation briefings of the AU Optronics Corp, Ming-wen Chen actively promotes the advantages and benefits to invest Chiayi Industrial Park. The location of the Industrial Park meets the requirements of AUO; such as the convenient air, land and sea transportation to other parts of the country. In addition, this development plan has brought the attention of the Executive Yuan and welcomes AUO to invest in Chiayi.
Ming-wen Chen noted, the Macho Industrial Park locates on the south of the Chiayi county government, between the intersection of Puzih city and Lucao Township. The planned area has 426 hectares and belongs to the Taiwan Sugar Corp. Without hesitation, investors and manufacturers can enjoy convenient facilities such as water and electricity, county government center, universities and hospitals.
Chairman, Kun-Yao Li appreciated Ming-wen Chen¡¦s invitation and expressed his impression with this investment environment. He expressed that the 10th generation factory requires 200 hectares with NTD 300 billion and is still in search for appropriate location.
Chairman Kun-yao Li and his engineers are worried about the distance between the factory and the Shirakawa fault and the required amount of water that the 2 LCD factories will need. Ming-wen Chen expressed, the Nation Science Council has completed the evaluation, expressing that the Industrial Park is capable to provide 65,000 tons of water and will not affect daily operations. Li will ask his engineers to evaluate again. |
