
It has been 4 years since the promotion of Digital Opportunities Center (DOC) in Chiayi county. In the first 3 years, the primary focus was on Internet education. Starting this year, Chiayi county government aims to promote tourism. This Friday (28th), the Milk-Pineapple guru, Wen-Cin Chen is invited to Lucao DOC to introduce the characteristics of the development program.
Chiayi County government noted that the DOC provides a number of opportunities for making agriculture, tourism, and cultural promotion which acts as an important platform for rural areas to create opportunities. DOC further made use of it matured experience of technology to market Chiayi County¡¦s tourism, cultural tourism and agricultural industries.
Invited by the Educational Department, Departments of Agriculture, Research and Evaluation, General Affairs, Cultural Affairs and Tourism Bureau together deliberated on how to use the 14 DOCs to promote related plans.
DOC group employed a successful marketer to discuss how she managed to promote ¡§Yili¡¦s Shop¡¨ ¡V home-style radish chicken from grandmother¡¦s recipe and coffee-flavored sausage to the international market. She was also invited as the representative of Taiwan¡¦s women entrepreneurs to participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
Friday this week, the DOC continues to invite the Third Global Chinese Blog nominee of 2007 Best Business Application ¡V the Guru of Milk-Pineapple Wen-Cin Chen to discuss how he promoted Minsyoung¡¦s Milk-Pineapple to overseas via the Internet. It even becomes the official fruit of the 2008 Olympic Games.
The 14 DOCs are: Meishan-Taihe DOC, Meishan DOC, Rueili Doc, Jhongpu-Longshin DOC, Alishan-Daban DOC, Fanlu-Shiding DOC, Lioujiao DOC, Dongshih DOC, Jhongpu-Heshin DOC, Lucao DOC, Yijhu DOC, Jhuci-Luman and Shihjho DOC, Dapu DOC.
